Allyship Responses

Saskatoon Pride supports Black, Indigenous, and all People of Colour to be heard, valued, and respected. We want to use our platform to elevate marginalized voices during the Festival and always.

We evaluate our events, activities and community engagement to this end and welcome input with respect to our activities and programming.

It is our responsibility to listen, to learn (and unlearn), and to act to prioritize and elevate voices of those who may not share our privilege.

We work with others to make our community a safer, more welcoming, accessible, inclusive and equitable.

Pride began as a protest and a riot, and evolved into a celebration as more rights were won in the struggle for inclusion and acceptance, but the work is far from done and new and continuing challenges face our community.

We recognize that our work must be intersectional, and that we must seek community input, ensure that our Board of Directors, volunteers and stakeholders represent and reflect the diversity that makes up the 2SLGBTQ+ community and that our events and programming are accessible and barrier-free.

We welcome feedback year-round. To share your ideas and viewpoints with our board, please use our contact page
