Enter the Drag Dragon follows Crunch, an outgoing and eccentric detective, alongside their quirky best friend and fast food delivery girl, Jaws, as they try to save the Mayfair Theatre, owned by their mentor, Buck. Through a series of debacles, the trio takes on a case to retrieve a painting stolen from a local museum.

Welcome to the Gaybourhood is a staple event during Saskatoon’s Pride week celebration, featuring three main components: Free community BBQ, community fair showcasing local artisans and community organizations, and Entertainment stage featuring Saskatchewan 2SLGBTQ artists.

Experience the power and resilience of the Two-Spirit community at 2-Spirit Voices. Spirit Strong Singers drum group sets the stage with an honour song after a prayer by Marjorie Beaucage at 6:30 PM. Then immerse yourself in the captivating storytelling of Marjorie Beaucage from 6:45-7:15 PM, followed by a reading by Jeri Alderman-Hansson from 7:15-7:30 PM. This empowering event runs from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, featuring free Bannock and tea. Join us for a night of unity, culture, and celebration. This is an alcohol-free event.
Keep the party going after the Pride Parade and come dance on our rooftop deck! Tunes will be provided by DJ Mandy Warhol and DJ Deep Space, rain or shine. Cash bar, with a light lunch provided by Hearth.

All University of Saskatchewan faculty, staff and students are welcomed to attend the Pride Flag Raising Ceremony to celebrate the start of Pride Month. The flag raising is one of the ways we visibly demonstrate that USask is committed to fostering an inclusive and positive working and learning environment for everyone, including those in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We will be raising both the Inclusive Pride flag and the Two-Spirt Pride flag.

Wyant Group and Spiffy Car Wash are back for their third annual Rainbow Car Wash Day! On June 10, 2023 join Spiffy Car Wash as we celebrate and support Saskatoon Pride – a portion of the proceeds from the day will be donated to the organization. Details: The Masquerade Ball is set to bring healing to our Two-Spirit- LGBT Peoples within our communities. When looking back at our Programming department we have had a gap when it comes to honoring and acknowledging our peoples, I want to reestablish the connection between our identity and sexuality. This event will open the doors for BATC to offer LGBT education to our communities, whether it be Two-spirit teachings, LGBT History, LGBT Sex Education, among many others we could offer as a business.

A Midtown x Saskatoon Pride collaboration invites you to join us for a night of Queer Artistry: Art Exhibition edition on Wednesday, June 14th at the Studio at Midtown Plaza. Local queer artists will present their artwork for an art show while answering the question “what does Pride mean to you?”. Join local Queer birders Ryan Bradshaw and Ryan (RJ) Dudragne for a morning walk in the park as we look for birds and celebrate Pride in nature! Whether the day brings sunshine or clouds, there will be plenty of birdsong and beauty to make your heart soar! We’ll be meeting by the parking lot at Donna Birkmaier Park, entrance at Taylor St E and Slimmon Rd. Binoculars are recommended for the best viewing experience, but not required. Bring water, and come prepared for the weather and the potential of mosquitos. This is a free, all-ages event with accessible gravel pathways. Donations will be accepted, proceeds going to Saskatoon Pride.

10-minute Queer Play Festival – Where YOU create the play!
In celebration of Pride, Persephone Theatre is proud to introduce the 48-hour Queermunity Theatre Race! Do you crave the spotlight? Join us for this creative performance opportunity for everyone in the Saskatoon Queer community (2SLGBTQIA+ and their allies) who longs to be on stage!
Get your friends together and submit a team application. Selected teams will receive an inspiration package and have just 48 hours to create a Queer-centric performance! Five teams will be chosen and announced on May 27. Then join us on June 8 at 5:30 p.m. as each team receives their unique inspiration package, and the countdown begins! The participants will have only 48 hours to create and rehearse their play. The lights will go up on Persephone’s Backstage Stage at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 to unveil these five new plays, which celebrate our Queermunity and kick off Pride Week in Saskatoon!
HOW IT WORKS:
Submit your team application below before/or on May 18, 2022.
The Queermunity Selection Committee (representatives from OUTSaskatoon and Persephone Theatre) will choose up to five teams, to be announced May 27.
Teams must be in attendance for the following:
– June 9, 5:30 p.m. – teams receive inspiration packages
– June 11, 12-5 p.m. – each team will receive 45 minutes for a technical rehearsal on this afternoon. Exact timing to be determined.
– June 11, 7:30 p.m. – arrival at the theatre to prep for show time!
Teams will create, rehearse, and perform a 10-15 minute original play.
Teams will receive a $250 honorarium to spend as they choose. For example, to pay each team member for their time; buy costumes, props, or food; donate to a Queer friendly organization.
