Digital Soil and Stories engages Two Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQ+ responses on connection to land as safe space; artists share reflections and spoken word practices while visiting cultural and heritage sites throughout Treaty lands, now known as Saskatchewan.
In collaboration with Two Spirit and LGBTQ+ artists, as well as knowledge keepers, Digital Soil and Stories was envisioned and produced by nehîyaw spoken word artist Janelle ‘ecoaborijanelle’ Pewapsconias, and unboundedly supported by the Saskatoon Pride Festival Board of Directors. These stories were filmed in locations across the Treaty lands by a number of artists, including ecoaborijanelle, Jennifer Lenny, Floyd Favel, Sunshine Janelle, and John McDonald.
On Wednesday, June 16 at 8:00pm CST, we will be able to witness the sharing of perspectives and truths of this land as safe space by watching the livestream premiere of Digital Soil and Stories on Saskatoon Pride’s Youtube channel. Here is the direct link.
