The Q Factor: A Digital Talent Show

The Q Factor is an all-ages 2SLGBTQ+ digital talent competition produced by Saskatoon Pride. Taking place on Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13, 2021, 2SLGBTQ+ community across across Saskatchewan will have the chance to show off their talents in a virtual competition to win cash prizes – first prize is $1,000!

RSVP here to watch the two digital talent broadcasts: registration is free and both events take place on Zoom. You will receive two different Zoom links via email shortly before each event on March 12th and March 13th, so watch your inbox to join in!

On March 12, all contestants will show off their talent in the first digital showcase. Judges and the audience will vote for their favourite acts to determine the Top Five. 

The Top Five will be featured in the finale showcase on March 13. The judges and audience members will vote for their favourite acts and the winner will get the $1,000 first prize, followed by other cash prizes for second and third places, and runner-ups. 

Both events will be hosted by the fabulous Iona Whipp and Kissy Duerré, and Prince Albert singer-songwriter LJ Tyson will perform during each showcase.

The Q Factor wouldn’t happen without our community members, so we need you! If you want to be part of the competition, you will need to submit two videos of separate acts no later than Friday, February 26. Please visit https://bit.ly/yxeqfac to fill out the Talent Submission Form, in addition to uploading your videos to Google Drive (see below for details about video submissions or read the Talent Submission Form).

Talent pieces can include, but are not limited to, music (singing and instrumental), acting, comedy, spoken word, poetry, drag acts, gender performance, burlesque, live performance of visual arts, performance art, dance, etc.

Talent Content

As the showcases are all ages, please note that we will *not* accept pieces containing any profanity, and content or attire must not include any connotation, remarks or lyrics that are racist, homophobic, transphobic, biophobic, ableist or body shaming. Lyrics must be sent by email to accompany the video submissions. Original content and covers are accepted.
